Cherri’s smart, jazz/soul hybrid, Misery makes love to your ear from the very first note. You don’t really hear songs like this anymore so it’s truly a pleasure to hear it and Cherri executes it so well. Thankfully, although the song personifies the emotion, listening to it does just the opposite. I dare anyone to listen to this and not fall in love with it.

Musiq – Medicine

In the world of “neo soul” one of the only cats that maintained any form of integrity and longevity is the artist known as Musiq Soulchild. However, these last two albums (Musiq in the Magiqdrops May 3rd) have seen more compromises than I would like. This coming album is the most R&B of all and I must say that although it’s not bad it’s def not what I anticipated from Musiq. I hope, though, that he does well with this release as I can imagine the label is applying the pressure but I wish we could have gotten less conventional musiq this time around
