Freestyle Records is releasing the follow up to their popular 2007 Black Feeling album! The album full of cover versions by pseudonuyms of Lance Ferguson aka The Bamboos & Lanu are just as bangin as ever. Lance says,
“The initial study of the original recordings enables me to be freer with interpreting, re-arranging and changing them for the final album. Often I will make changes to make a track a little more attractive or usable for DJs and the dancefloor in general. I think it’s really important to flip the cover-versions up and offer the listener something new so often I’ll change instrumentation around to achieve something unique.”
Black Feeling 2 is in stores July 11

She remains true to the original yet brings a mild jazzy vibe to the rare groove original, stay tuned for the breakdown at the 4minute mark. Niceness!
Okay, this isn’t that new but it hasn’t been posted. It’s my bad, I’m a real big Rahsaan Patterson fan so the fact that I didn’t catch this is on me. Regardless, this track is good. I can hear that Rahsaan is taking some creative risks here but honestly – I like

Unfortunately, not much is known about Calvin Flowers other than his Lounge and The Nights LP is due later this year. Something For Your Mind is jazzy and Calvin’s effortless flow is so smooth, it feels almost like spoken word. No date on the LP’s release but hopefully this single is indicative of what we can expect
