Vinyl? Check! 51: Sunday Meditation

After reading the latest issue of Wax Poetics, I went and checked out some of the albums by the artists. I’ve had You Are My Starship for a long time, but this song just touched me on this listen. The Creator Has a Master Plan (Peace), arranged by Norman Connors, features Gary Bartz and Pharoah Sanders and is a truly great, jazzy tune to reflect and meditate to. Freddie Cruger’s production can’t be questioned at this point, but Anthony Mills voice really sets this off and then he starts droppin names… If you haven’t copped Cookie Dough yet, you’re really missing out! I don’t know what their preoccupation with hard drugs is, but this has been on repeat. Enjoy
