Shouts out to the good folks at Compost for turning me on to this because I completely overlooked this album! Classified as German pop, Marbert Rocell just sounds like good soul music to me! The Quadron and Little Dragon comparisons will come, but they have a little something extra, more of a foundation in soul than electronica than their counterparts, maybe? This album sounds like what I wanted the new Micatone album to sound like though and is very impressive. Peep minute and a half snippets HERE and purchase HERE.
