Hailing from Colorado, The foodchain is an appropriately labeled “collective” of four Emcees, two producers, a DJ and a drummer that all vow to make music true to the heart, preferring to see their craft as a chance to move the masses rather than make a quick buck, while at the same time turning the genre on it’s proverbial ear.
After first signing to Statik Selektah’s Showoff imprint, releasing a mixtape and then backing that up with the critically acclaimed “Corpses“, the crew is back this month with their latest long player entitled “BRUNCH“.
The first single, “Dear Industry” also gets the first visual treatment and the result is a slice of Denver’s sights and lifestyles mixed with the group’s aspirations of breaking through the glass barrier that can sometimes keep talented cats out of the limelight they so long for. It also pulls double duty by re-introducing the Colorado Hip-Hop scene to listeners.
