At this year’s South by Southwest, Wax Poetics partnered with Maker’s Mark to present three hugely successful events: “Funk Aid for Africa & Haiti,” “45 Live,” and “World Groove.”
The weekend featured performances by Adrian Younge and the Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra, the Wax Poetics x Stones Throw’s “45 Live” DJ showcase (with Madlib, PB Wolf, J Rocc, Dam-Funk, Amir, 14kt, and guests), as well as Chico Mann and Ocote Soul Sounds.
