Cover songs are never an easy sell with 80’s babies, as we just aren’t very forgiving if another person starts monkeying around with the memories a favorite jam from that decade can conjure up.
Have no fear though, when Muhsinah is involved. While I myself was more partial to Songs From The Big Chair‘s mega hits, Shout and Everybody Wants To Rule The World, it seems that Seenah was more about The Working Hour.
Work she does, as her revamp takes out the OG’s synthesizers, guitar riffs and even the vocal arrangement, replacing them all in true Muhsinah fashion with doubled hand claps, Moog vibrato and a complete re-tooling of how the lyrics are conveyed.
