I remember buying The Philadelphia Experiment album in 2001, solely because ?uestlove was involved and essentially, unknowingly dipping another toe into what would later become a deep dive into Jazz. Ropeadope has continuously unleashed other entries in the Experiment series, most recently landing in Mexico City and releasing a 10 track album with some of the city’s most talented musicians. In my later years, I have become an avid James Brown fan and was pleasantly surprised by De Buche. De Buche AKA Pork Stomach is the last thing I was expecting on my excursion into Mexico City. I haven’t eaten pork since ’97, but I can’t stop rewinding and devouring this delicious piece of Down South, Super Heavy funk.
