Anyone who has heard of Lianne De Havas will understand why her fan base is so deep and diverse. Her musical styling is at the very least hypnotic, and at most brilliant, which is definitely the reason why Prince tapped her for two tracks off of last year’s Art Official Age. This UK native busted on the scene in 2011, blessing the masses with the exquisite ”No Room for Doubt” from first EP, Lost & Found, released another EP, and two more albums including the luminous Blood which was released this year. I was knocking the hell out of Blood in my ride, taking it in and out of rotation for about 2-3 months as the album is ultimately a piece of art that everyone should hear. Just when I thought her music could not get any better, French producer Darius remixes “Green and Gold” eliciting a smooth sound that’s right at home with Lianne’s vocals, creating a brand new track that will definitely make listeners new fans of both Lianne and Darius.
