I clearly rememeber when the original version of Southern Girl hit, back in ’99, right before Rahzel’s Make the Music album dropped because radio stations in BHM loved it. Six years later, I found out about Opolopo on the Digital-Djs website via a mix someone did which included this song.
If the OG version was created to depict easy Southern living, then this remix was designed to show that at night for centuries, we get our dance on in the South. Enjoy!
