“Let It Be Known (Madwreck Remix)” is the lead single off DJ K.O.’s upcoming EP, Living Out A State of Mind Vol. 10, which is set to drop August 30th. The track showcases Madwreck, Elementality’s newest member, on the boards as he remixes a lyrical slaughtering by Kenn Starr, Hassaan Mackey and EMP’s own, Silent Knight. The track, originally on DJ K.O.’s 2008 EP, Perception Is Everything, now sports a gritty guitar sample to complement the rhymes courtesy of the North Carolina beatsmith. This remix is a prime example of how to flip the original vibe of a song and make it sound brand new.
Keeping with the traditional formatting of the vinyl days, we’ve got a “B-Side” to liberate for this new Digital 12″. “Basic Training (Madwreck Remix)” features Silent Knight on the mic with a barrage of braggadocios bars. This track, originally on SK’s 2005 offering Fall of Ignorance, might possibly insight riots (or at least moshing) now courtesy of Madwreck.
