Badu’s Mama’s Gun is by far one of my favorite of her albums and Orange Moon is one of the strongest tunes on the album. Needless to say it takes some moxie to touch it and some serious talent to pull it off. Enter South Carolina’s Collette, who jumped on the scene in 2008 and has been keeping it thorough ever since. Her version is completely different than the original, uptempo and with a hip hop feel, but still somehow evokes the same feeling.
