Brunner & Brunner Volumes 1 & 2 [Downloads]

Brunner & Brunner

Continuing with the mixes for the Summer theme, here are two more that are staples for me and possibly will be for you as well.

No real clue who Brunner & Brunner are other than what Google told me and I seriously doubt those guys did these mixes but that’s what they were labeled as when they fell into my mp3 hoarding hands.
Dah’well! Doesn’t really matter who made the mixes (but if you know, hit us up so we can give proper credits) because these have BLOCK PARTY in #allcapsboldface written all over them.

Volume One consists of mostly Ol’ School R&B, sporting such classics as Jodeci’s “Come & Talk To Me” (the Remix of course), Zapp & Roger’s “Computer Love” and New Edition’s coming of age, Malcolm Jamal Warner video directed, “If It Isn’t Love” just to name a scant few.

The second volume goes further into the Golden Age of Hip-Hop, starting with the audio of the instantly recognizable voice of Double K (Guy Davis) singing “It’s Woooorking“! during the House Party scene from Beat Street and goes on to tout gems like Main Source’s “I’m Looking At The Front Door”, LL Cool J’s “Around The Way Girl” and Supacat’s “Dolly My Baby”.

Both are expertly mixed, so nostalgia is tightly confined within the digital walls of these long players and the DJ has the cuts and blends in all the right places to make sure your ears will get continually blessed way before a track has a chance to get stale. Plus when you couple them both with this mix, it’s a triple threat and you just can’t miss at the next function/get together/ reason to cookout.

Trust that everyone will ask you all day long how they can get their hands on a copy. #youvebeenwarned
