Whenever I see beat tapes of more than 10 tracks I cringe because on average only a quarter, if that many, of the tracks are any good. Hippie Food is the exception! I gritted my teeth, pressed play and have been grooving since track 1. The music on the release come from “a hectic transitional period,” Blue writes and I’m sure the personal connection with the music is what adds that special something to the tracks. Presented as a “name your own price” release, you’ll feel compelled to drop some beans in his Bandcamp bucket
