While getting into the groove of Nicholas Ryan Gant’s “Promises“, I became smitten by Amma Whatt’s superb vocals and decided to dig deeper.
It didn’t take long to find out that the Howard University Jazz alum and co-writer of Kindred The Family Soul’s “Just the Way You Are” just released her new EP, Maybe, 24 hours ago.
Intended to serve as a preview to a later fuller release, Maybe is a six track teaser that while sparse on production -as all I’ve heard so far is guitar, beatbox and body percussion- certainly makes the most of those elements when coupled with Amma’s serene and intoxicating instrument.
