While I listen to a lot of music, I’ll be the first to readily admit that it’s probably not easy to remix a great song. Even harder I’d assume to remix one that’s already garnered numerous accolades of the highest order and degree.
There was and still is nowhere you can go and run into someone that has not heard the original track at least once in the last couple of years. So I’ll assume it’s even harder to take the stems from such a hit and tweak it into something almost as electric as the Rick Rubin produced predecessor.
Enter Grand Ear, who continues to show that he’s worthy of his moniker.
By turning the guitars all the way down, adding echoing snaps and turning the reverb on Adele’s vocals up a few extra notches, he matches it all over a lush George Duke inspired background complete with spacey sounds to enhance the other-worldy effect.
