June Marieezy – Throw Away Love Songs

The world has become a much smaller place with the rise of the internet and a major benefit is the the confluence of style. Lately, within the past 2 years for me, I’ve begun to hear some really great music out of the Philippines. Enter June Marieezy. I dont know if her latest album and my introduction to her sound, Throw Away Love Songs’ title is a declarative statement or if it’s a descriptive noun. If it’s the latter, the title in regards to this album is largely misleading.
Beginning with Back to Love, a beguiling less than half a minute intro, June brandishes her hook. The remainder of the album serves as successful bait to shell out clams to add this to your collection. Whether upbeat, midtempo or slow, there is nothing on Throw Away Love Songs to be discarded.
