Peven recently released King of Hearts stateside and it’s definitely one of his most focused and cohesive albums on along time. As usual, there’s a buffet of genres on this project that he wields with his usual acumen. There are many standouts such as I Can Be Your Boyfriend which sounds like something Roy Ayers would crank out in 2013!

Wowww, taken from their latest album do Norte, the wonderful A Bossa Eletrica tackle a Roy Ayers classic and modern soul staple, Everybody Loves the Sunshine. They create a deep groove by “using a fullrange palette of sounds – acoustic guitar, lots of percussion, strings and hornsection alongside warm keyboards and other electric elements”.
