I’ve been rocking with Guillaume Metenier and his Soul Sugar crew since 2013. Their cover of James Brown‘s King Heroin made me a fan and their latest collection of dubbed out covers is making sure I remain in their corner. Somehow, I missed Excursions in Soul Reggae Funk & Dub which was released earlier this year and luckily Excursions in Dub contains some of these gems. Personal favorites, Greedy G and Marvin Gaye’s I Want You get touched but when they tackle Luther’s Never Too Much featuring the fantastic vocals of Leo Carmichael, it’s all thumbs up from me.
Maybe it’s the uncharacteristic warm Winter weather but I’ve been rocking Excursion in Dub all morning long! Hit up their Bandcamp and show them some love. There’s never too much of that to go around
