Medline – Everybody Loves The Sunshine feat Roni Alkekengi

Medline’s new single, “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” features Roni Alkekeni, and is the debut single from his upcoming album,”People Make The World Go Round”, slated to drop in the autumn. Fortunately, the single will be released on September 7th, and it’s well worth the wait. “Everybody Loves The Sunshine” is a new take on the Roy Ayers classic, played at a faster tempo and kicked up a notch with an up to date beat. The flute solo is nice, with a very happening lead vocal and fresh background vocals. The bass line and strings are creative, combined with an echo on the closing bars that’s almost like a dark edge to the sunshine. It’s deep. The arrangement stays faithful to the original horn parts and sections. I also like the fact that Medline didn’t feel the need to cut this mix up, and the balance parts of it are dazzling.

Medline, a producer from Rennes, France with roots in Chile, says “People…is a tribute album to the Jazz Funk Masters who provided the DNA of the original rap shit.”  What can you say to that? “More power to you my brother, go ‘head with your bad self!” Suddenly, autumn can’t come fast enough.
