Kanye West – The Joy ft. Jay-Z, Charlie Wilson, Curtis Mayfield, Kid Cudi (prod by Pete Rock)

I dig Kanye, but Im not a Kanye Stanfan by far so you shouldnt expect me to post everything he’s been dropping as part of his G.O.O.D. Fridays series, which he’ll be doing until his new album is released. However, I have heard one track I liked in the series, Lord Lord (Download) so far. Assisted by Pete Rock on production and Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson and the Jigga man on vocals, Kanye had me in a frenzy to pick up anything with his name on it after hearing The Joy, which is a very suitable name because thats exactly how I was feeling, joyful. Utilizing a heavily sampled and beautiful Curtis Mayfield sample, Kanye makes you exclaim, “So when are you gonna stop doing this art deco rap and get back to the real hip hop?” It will probably fall on deaf ears, but oh well. And, if you ever get a chance to rap with Anthony David, ask him to tell you his thoughts on Kanye West and his Phoenix LOL
