Kaleem Taylor – Smooth EP

We came across West Londoner Kaleem Taylor‘s sounds a month or so back and added one of his tracks, “Never” to a recent Loose Joints post cause it was just that good of a song. We’ll Kaleem is back with more with the release of his new “Smooth EP“.

Weighing in at just six tracks and with only two of those clocking in over 3 minutes long, Smooth is quite minimalistic in regards to production but the EP’s understated approach gives the listener a bit more of an open window into KT’s sound without overloading the ears with unneeded filler tracks or overly done music.

The less is more stance is even evident in Taylor’s vocals as every note and word are crisp, clear and delivered to the listener “in-the-pocket“, without need for extra flourish and flair. Other artists should take note. You don’t always need to have over the top or ridiculous vocals runs to put out a quality, respectable project.

Taylor’s project does well in living up to it’s title.

Here’s a suggestion, click HERE, grab the freebie, take a spin around the block while playing it, come back and let me know if you agree in the comments and while you’re mulling it over, peep this NOT on the EP track.
