Pittsburgh, PA. producers BusCrates 16–Bit Ensemble, Nice Rec, and Grand Ear a.k.a Geeman come together to form ELQ, or East Liberty Quarters, the “neighborhood of Pittsburgh where each member cultivated their sound.” Their self titled album had me at the first track and I enjoyed ELQ’s cosmic boogie so much that when the last song ended I promptly shelled out $5 to encourage them to give us some more. These brothers have a unique sound that difficult to pin down, but it’s funky and danceable and makes you feel good. What else do you want?
