In 1997 when Badu dropped her groundbreaking and iconic album, Baduizm, we could all tell that she would be around for a long time. Her sound has changed much since the release of that album, but the soul is always the same: unwavering, direct and dope as hell.
While diggin through my crates I found my CD for the lead single On & On. The disc contained three remixes, all of which are dope, but I didnt realize that this breakout artist was experimenting with drum and bass even then, even before ?uestlove’s breakout solo on You Got Me. Blu Mar Ten takes it there with almost 8 minutes of D&B goodness that will have you reaching for your 4Hero albums. I put this one on and couldnt believe that I’d overlooked this for almost 13 years… Enjoy!
