Here’s a classic that I used to love spinning back in the day, the 2 step/Garage classic, Gabrielle! It still sounds good to this day; the production plus the beautiful vocals from one of the hardest working jazz/soul/house vocalist-producers, Peven Everett.
Although a classic, multi-instrumentalist Tanya Auclair saw fit to remake it in a downtempo style. Check it out HERE
Produced by Rashad “Tumblin Dice” Smith, this was supposed to appear on a third Violator compilation album, V3, that was never released. Once again, this

I was a die-hard Digable Planets fan, so of course I was crushed when the crew disbanded. Late 2001, I saw a white label 12″

As you can probably tell, I’ve been going through my old crates tonight.
Here’s a treat from a rare and hard to find 12″ Madlib put together when he was really putting out a lot of remixes. He completely fonked this one out and adds that trademark Madlib feel to it, all while still keeping it surprisingly sexy. Just a great gem to pop in the deck. Enjoy!
Here’s another one I found while listening to an old mix of mine. This comes from an album I’ve had since 2004 titled only Unreleased Solo Project. This Hereis a cool marriage between the track’s soothing guitar, Elzhi’s subtle flow and Dwele’s crooning. This tune is so dope I dont know how I forgot about it. Don’t forget about Elzhi’s elMatic which is dropping soon (read more HERE) and did you ever hear of The Breakfast Club (Dwele x Ta’Raach x Elzhi)?
Here’s a cool joint from 1994, yep almost 20 years ago. This one-off was produced largely by Tony Toni Tone’s Dwayne Wiggins but also featured production by Showbiz, Dres, Mista Lawnge, and Howie Tee. The album sounds a little dated now but I’ve always loved this Les McCann sample and the way they flipped it. This one is still out there and can be scored for as little as $1.96 HERE
I remember when DJ Jazzy Jeff’s BBE album promo for The Magnificent arrived in the mail like it was yesterday! I was amazed at the

I’ve always dug Destruments, and in addition to their really cool name, they make some really great music! In 2006 they participated in a remix project, Reworked
