BamaLovSoul.com | 5 Years and the Future

When I began BamaLoveSoul in 2008, my only goal was to provide exposure to music that receives little to no attention from mass media. Over the past half decade BamaLoveSoul has done just that plus more than I ever believed possible when I composed my first post on Blogger. We’ve partnered with major brands like Banana Republic and Hennessy, worked with some of our favorite artists and even released an album on vinyl. Anything is possible, it seems, with pure motive and hard work.

As 2012 made way for 2013 though, I began to wonder if I would continue with the site. I devote a large majority of my free time to BamaLoveSoul.com, researching, posting, mixing, or thinking of ideas to draw your interest. This time is increasingly becoming no longer my own. My son turned 3 last Monday, and I have a daughter on the way, so I’m sure you can see where conflict may arise. However, I want my children to be entrepreneurs, to know they don’t have to work for others and they can achieve anything they set their minds to asI have.

I can’t make promises for BamaLoveSoul’s future. I can’t guarantee that we’ll be around another 5 years to make a full decade or even until the end of this year, but I can guarantee we will continue to locate and share music we feel deserves to be heard. These 5 years have been a labor of love, and one I’ve enjoyed immensely. I’ve made friends in almost every part of the world, helped others make beneficial connections, and held my torch aloft to illuminate great independent talent.

Thanks for visiting the site, spreading the word about the posts & mixes, attending our events and the overall love and support,
