If you don’t have Kool & the Gang’s 1976 Open Sesame in your collection, PLEASE go get it. You will not be disappointed. They experiment with harmony and funk and a blending of the two throughout the album. Whisper Softly is one of the songs where they mesh the 2 together to achieve such a beautiful effect.
