Saoul – Nexus EP

Saoul’s latest EP, Nexus is light on tracks but dense in style and flavor! We’ve become familiar with the Romanian born musician and his forays into funk have made fans of many. Slide aside as he invites many more to the fold as he shows off even more of his growing repertoire. He unveils his wares slowly with lead track Jive, summoning his inner Van Hunt before jumping into Prince mode, wielding Minneapolis funk on Cassette Tape. Interestingly enough, track 3, Nubiqua reveals the Producer/Arranger/Composer’s burgeoning Jazz chops. Assisted by Tom Delaney on flute and sax, Saoul’s bass stays right in the pocket while he presents an 80’s fusion Jazz gem that Najee wishes he made! Sentiments lets you know sexy time is nearing with a slow groover cooked to perfection before ending the EP with the Prince meets Devante Swing feel of Good Girl. A must have for the ride
