Great visuals to go along with an equally great tune from Raphael Saadiq’s equally great Stone Rollin’ (our album review) album. I’m not a proponent of the “retro” style, but I have to admit Saadiq does it so well. I can hear so many influences in this tune, but it doesn’t seem contrived and is actually quite refreshing. The video really drew me in as well.
“The video tells a story and reflection of life on the road. He is welcomed home by his lady after returning from several performance. She is excited to see him, welcoming him with open arms. While he may have to leave again soon, it’s the quality time that he spends with his family that is most important.”
