Just last night we told you about this amazing group from Melbourne and the Remix LP they’re offering on their Bandcamp page but a quick search of the site showed me that we never covered their original LP.
Allow me to remedy that then here and now as I’ve been jamming their debut release since last month when we posted about Giant Step’s SONIC BOOM compilation as it featured their low key, almost acoustic version of standout track “Nakamarra“. In the track, they expertly use only a Kettle Drum, Guitar and things from the surrounding fauna to make the music and give voice to the Aboriginal Skin Word.
Trust me that it’s just as superb to watch as it is to listen to.
But I’d be remiss as a music lover if I didn’t go back and make mention of the OG track too cause while the Rox N Stix Desert Mix is beautifully simple, its the jazzier electronic elements of the original coupled with the lead vocals of Nai Palm that really spark it off for me.
