If you know nothing besides Trian Kayhatu’s latest album’s title is a riff on drummer/vocalist’s Phil Collins’ name, please know that Trian’s friends/fans are working overtime to make sure you notice this release. I began to see this name everywhere and finally broke down to see what the hype was about and am glad I did. Rotterdam’s Trian Kayhatu is a musician/composer/producer rooted in the futuristic Funk culture but is taking things to the next level like his West Coast musical brethren Thundercat! Chil Pollins sound could definitely work on The Brainfeeder label. just listen to No One Else is Here. He’s still working on his Magnum opus, the follow-up to 2014’s Suture, but has dropped this tasty, 7 track treat on us in the meantime.
