The Sunburst Band ft. Darien – Where the Lights Meet the Music

The title space above couldn’t fit the whole title. “Where The Lights Meet the Music (Atjazz Remixes)” by Joey Negro and the Sunburst Band was released about 28 hrs ago. If you are not familiar with the Sunburst Band, they are a funky soulful 7-piece outfit signed to ZR Records. They hit the scene around 2003 and have been funkin’ ever since. This collab with Darien is noteworthy for many aurally exciting reasons from having both Joey Negro and Atjazz Remixes to the Atjazz Syncopated Dub.

Darien, is known for his album “If These Walls Could Talk” (2009) and his vocal styles on many soulful house projects with Reel People, Salah Ananse and the Layabouts just to sate your ears and further decrease your harddrive space if you curiosity is piqued. Alas, I digress…

This EP features not only the Atjazz remixes of the song, but boasts Joey’s renditions; and a bonus for DJs/Producers in the form of an accapella of Darien’s vocals!  The funky bass lines and entrancing disco grooves for which Atjazz is known makes this record a must dance (or roller-skate) cut.  The complete set is available on the label’s website but as usual we got a teaser via Joey Negro.  Below is the Atjazz vocal remix. Enjoy.
