Tall Black Guy & Darondo – I Don’t Want To Leave (Sure Know How to Love Me Re-Edit)

Once again another groovy, bass euphoric track from Tall Black Guy.  This one features the vocals of Darondo.  This is a flip of the single “Didn’t I”, which was released back in 1972 on the Music City Label on a 7 inch.  It was one of three singles released by William Dorando Pulliam in that decade.  And yes, he performed and released music under the misspelled name.

TBG took this funky west coast cruisin’ classic and added a bass synth and some neo-funk in his signature fashion.  This track is part of an EP entitled “Luv ‘n Haight Edit Series Vol. 5” featuring Darondo’s music and a couple flips including one by Dandy Teru available on iTunes.  Darondo’s music is enjoying a rebirth thanks to Gilles Peterson and crate diggers like us here at BamaLoveSoul.  Hopefully we see a full album in the near future from Pulliam who still lives in Northern California.  Enjoy…
