D.Scott – Lose My Soul

I first heard of this brother on his cover of Drake’s “Just Hold On (We’re Going Home)”, which I must admit I like over Drake’s original, as it brought a whole new flavor to the song altogether. When I heard Lose My Soul, I was surprised at how emotionally raw and naked he was to ever even put out a song like this. Within the confines of his lyrics, he straddles the line between soul and gospel, as he tells of the many traps one finds when money, fame and success collides in one’s world in a confessional that any listener can appreciate. This is one of those tracks that you can play on a breezy Saturday morning drive or a Sunday drive to church, either way your ears will thank you.
