Georgia Anne Muldrow – Ms. One (Album Review)

California’s own Georgia Anne Muldrow hits us with her five track Ms. One EP. The project represents a change of pace for Muldrow as she provides us with a primarily hip hop album. Those familiar with her already know that she is a talented vocalist. A west coast funk sound, slappin’ drums, and heavy synth throughout back Ms. One and make it a head-nodding experience. One track in particular “Dollar” is an absolute banger and it features Muldrow’s husband and frequent collaborator, Dudley Perkins. Muldrow’s flow is good and her lyrics packed with thought provoking prose. Ms. One is a “conscious” album in the sense that it conveys social and personal messages. Everything about this project is intriguing and engaging. Pick this one up in time for summer!
