Last Thursday Birmingham, Al was graced by a performance by supercrew The Foreign Exchange with DJ Rahdu on turntable duty! I’m happy to say that the soul community showed up and supported a great band that chose to come to our city on their own dime. A good time was had by all and we hope to see you all again soon. Thanks to everyone that helped make the show a success, including the wonderful Jessica Latten (visit her site) who showed up and showed out on camera duty and for always being willing to assist!
Here’s the large portion of my set, recorded before the gain somehow got set too high and distorted the sound. Enjoy!
Note: This is not a mix of The Foreign Exchange songs, just a cool mix of soul and Hip Hop to prepare the crowd for the show

Right after the release of 1998′s The Love Movement and before VH1 Hip Hop Hoors and the Rock the Bells festival, Hip Hop endured a truly sad occasion: the disbanding of A Tribe Called Quest. Never ones to not bring it at a LIVE show, this is no exception. Luckily, for some, they have reunited to perform together at times since then and continue rock powerful LIVE shows for the people’s enjoyment. Here’s one that was thought to be their last. Enjoy

Quadron recently covered the classic Michael Jackson song Baby Be Mine at a nice change of tempo from the original tune. Afraid? Don’t be. This sounds really great. can’t wait to get my hands on some proper audio.

My first Fertile Ground album was Spiritual War and I’ve been hooked on their music ever since. I own all of their albums and was excited to get my hands on this live performance of them as I have never seen them live before.
